Songwriting

Ronnie grew up with country music in his blood. From Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson to Garth Brooks, he was always the kid with the headphones on, reading every lyric word for word. In the 2000s, Texas country artists like Pat Green and Robert Earl Keen lit something in him that would not go out.

He wrote his first song on the beach of South Padre Island one summer night, sometime between the bar closing and the sun coming up. That was the beginning. Since then he has written over 100 songs for his band Vidalia, for other artists, and for the sheer love of the craft. In 2025 he returned to writing with Nashville artists and is going deeper into the work than ever before.

2017 PEOPLE TO WATCH

The band Vidalia was listed on the 225 Magazine "People to Watch" list in 2017.

VIDALIA

In 2014, Ronnie brought together two of his closest friends, Charlie Hugg and Matt Tortorich, to form the country band Vidalia. Over four years the band charted at number 11 and number 24 on the iTunes Country Albums Chart, reached number 3 on Billboard's Heatseekers Chart, earned over 6 million streams, and had their music played in LSU's Tiger Stadium before football games. In 2017 they were named to 225 Magazine's People to Watch list.

When life pulled each of them in different directions, the band stepped away. But the songwriting never stopped.
